Hershel’s Farm & The Prison
Hershel’s Farm is just outside the town of Senoia on an unmarked road. The prison, as opposed to random internet rumors claiming it was filmed at an actual prison, is actually located at Raleigh Studios Atlanta.
What happened to Hershel’s farm?
The survivors make a stand at the farm but quickly realize that the farm is lost. The barn is set on fire and burned by Rick and Carl in an attempt to kill some walkers along with Dale’s RV beside it. The group leave the farm and re-group on the Vehicle Jammed Highway to decide what to do next.
Why did Hershel have a barn full of walkers?
When Rick first encounters Hershel, Hershel holds a belief that the walkers are still living people who are sick and as such, he keeps the ones he can find in the barn on his farm until a cure can be found for them.
Why was Lori mad at Rick for killing Shane?
She disagreed with some of the decisions he made but saw it her duty as his wife to stand by his side and support him. Rick quickly found out that Lori had an affair with Shane but is able to control his anger.

Why does Hershel’s farm get overrun?
Later, Shane angrily opens the barn door wide and the group had no other choice but to kill the walkers who burst out from the barn, including Sophia. Afterward, a big horde of walkers arrived at Hershel’s farm when a chopper drew their attention. The whole farm was destroyed and was overrun by walkers.
Do they ever go back to Hershel’s farm?
The farm was simply too vulnerable to protect. Rebuilding it would have been a waste of time. As for the prison it was never rebuilt because the events of the story never afforded an opportunity to rebuild it. After the final battle with The Governor the prison was overrun and the group scattered.
Why did michonne have two walkers?
As in the comics, she is accompanied by two chained walkers, side by side with their arms and lower jaws removed to prevent them from attacking. In removing their ability to eat, Michonne effectively tamed these walkers.
