Changing sensitivity
The Adafruit PIR has a trimpot on the back for adjusting sensitivity. You can adjust this if your PIR is too sensitive or not sensitive enough – clockwise makes it more sensitive.

Should PIR sensitivity be high or low?

Why is PIR sensor always high?
You need to check if the voltage on the PIR output switches. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage between OUT and GND. If you don’t see any change in level then you may need to add a “pull-up” resistor. If you have a 10 k resistor to hand then connect that between OUT and the 5 V supply.
How do you position a PIR sensor?
The best place to fit a PIR is in the corner of a room. This ensures maximum coverage of the space as the device maps out its grid. Choke-points are the areas in your home with the most traffic. These could be entry doors or hallways.
