Powder fillers: these are mixed with water and harden by crystallisation and so set quickly right to the back of the hole. This makes them more suitable for filling deep holes. Unlike plaster, the powder left in the box will still be usable when you find another hole to fill months later.
How do you fix cracks in corners of paint?
If you have cracks in the “inside” corners of walls you have an easier and a touch more logical solution. Instead of using mud or spackle you can use regular painters caulk and then finger finish the corner. The caulk is paintable and when you use a finger it finishes smooth. Then touch up with paint and your done.
Why do I have cracks in the corners of my walls?

Can you use spackle to repair plaster walls?
