Remove wall plate and disconnect existing light switch. Make sure both “hot” and neutral wires are present in the junction box. Press the PROG (Program) button once. The display will look as shown at the right. Press the MODE button repeatedly to set the timer to Automatic, Random or Manual mode.
Why does my light timer not work?
If the timer doesn’t activate the connected light, it might be working but the light bulb in the fixture might be burned out. Get on a sturdy ladder and twist the bulb fully into the socket. Turn the light on manually via the switch timer. If the light still fails to turn on, the light bulb might be burned out.
How does an electrical timer work?
The electronic timer circuit counts the pulses of the oscillator, and makes certain actions happen when there have been a certain number of pulses. For example, a timer circuit in a watch would count pulses until a second has passed, then send a signal to display the next second, and restart the count.
