Do Ott lights get hot?
I touched the bulb and Yes you could burn yourself on this bulb if you held your finger there for a minute as it does get pretty hot, it is not a cool touch bulb.

Do Ott lights help SAD?

Does Ott light have UV?
Ott lights put out a good amount of UV, but I don’t think it puts out nearly as much as a BLB. A fluorescent light has a tiny amount of mercury that produces a small amount of UV light, which in turn stimulates the powerdered coating on the inside of the bulb.
Can Ott lights be repaired?

Do Ott lights have ballasts?
The light is great from the lamps when they work. Unfortunately the ballast in the Ott-Lite lamps will die prematurely and the lamp becomes totally useless as soon as that happens.

Can any LED light be used as a grow light?
Regular LED lights can’t be used as grow lights, even though they may emit some of the wavelengths necessary for plants. Regular LED lights don’t emit enough of the light that plants require. Plant growth primarily requires red & blue light, which LED grow lights are designed to maximize.
