Companion. Media. Xiao (Chinese: 魈 Xiāo, “Mountain Demon”) is a playable Anemo character in Genshin Impact. He is an adeptus, under the name Alatus, and the only known remaining member of the five foremost Yakshas dispatched by Morax to subdue the demonic spirits that plagued Liyue.

Xiao is of the anemo element, meaning the one and only reaction he can trigger is Swirl, which spreads and increases the damage of pyro, hydro, cryo, or electro.
Before that, he was forced to kill when he was imprisoned by an evil god. Due to this, Xiao has seen many violent acts throughout his life and is still haunted from his time before meeting Zhongli. Xiao often wrestles with himself and is in great pain over some of the destruction he has caused.

Do Yakshas have visions?
The Hydro Yaksha’s Vision shape is vaguely similar to the one worn by Childe, a Snezhnayan Vision bearer. The symbol on it also resembles the Cryo snowflake more than Hydro’s water splash, though their darker blue color scheme and the bubbles depicted around them lend more to Hydro.
